In IPL 2023, Prithvi Shaw will next represent Delhi Capitals (DC). In the absence of the team’s normal captain, Rishabh Pant, he will attempt to fill a crucial position. After surviving a vehicle accident in December, the wicketkeeper-batter is making progress towards recovery.
Following his 379-run innings against Assam in the Ranji Trophy, the 23-year-old Shaw was recently re-included in the India team for the T20I series against New Zealand after being absent for more than a year. He did not, however, play in any of the three games in the series, which Team India won 2-1 at home.
In IPL 2023, the Mumbai batter plans to have a breakout season. Shaw had a strike rate of 152.97 and 283 runs in 10 innings last year.
Team for Delhi Capitals:
Ishant Sharma ($50,000), Phil Salt ($2,000,000), Mukesh Kumar ($5.5 million), Manish Pandey ($2.4 million), and Rilee Rossouw ($2.4 million) are the players that were purchased (INR 4.60 crore).
Retaining players include: Vicky Ostwal, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje, Chetan Sakariya, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Khaleel Ahmed, Lungi Ngidi, Mustafizur Rahman, Aman Khan, David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Ripal Patel, Rovman Powell, Mustafizur Rahman, Yash Dhull, and Mitchell Marsh.
On April 1, DC will play their first game against the Lucknow Super Giants.
