1. Chennai Super Kings

Captain : MS Dhoni
Age : 40 years

MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings is a great yellove story. Ever since the Indian Premier League idea spread dynamically among the cricketing fraternity, people wondered which squad would pouch the then Indian captain. The Super Kings, run by an organisation that knew the nuances of running sports, knew they wanted a strong leader to lay a strong base and they made a grand opening by bagging Dhoni for a whopping 6 Crore, the highest bid back then. The IPL would be born on April 18, 2008 and on June 1, Dhoni was there leading CSK in the final, albeit in a losing cause in a final-ball finish.

2. Mumbai Indians

Captain : Rohit Sharma

He’s a right-handed batter and a right arm orthodox spinner. He played for the Deccan Chargers from 2008-2010 before joining us, the Mumbai Indians in the 2011 auction. He has since gone on to become our captain, winning 5 IPL Titles and 2 winners League titles at the helm.
He’s India’s current white-ball captain.

3. Royal Challengers Bangalore

Captain: Faf du Plessis
Age: 37 Years

Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday declared Faf du Plessis as their captain for the new Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The 37- year-old veteran batsman, who has been part of the Chennai Super Kings for many years and also opened the batting for them, was among the top buys for RCB which bought 19 players at the IPL Mega Auction.

Du Plessis was handed over the cap by team’s chairman Prathmesh Mishra and director cricket operations Mike Hesson in a virtual event.
The 37- year-old Du Plessis has so far played 100 games in IPL, scoring 2935 runs at a strike- rate of 131- plus. He scored 633 runs for CSK in last year’s IPL- winning campaign.

4. Sunrisers Hyderabad

Captain: Kane Williamson (NZ)
Age: 31 Years

Born in a cricketing family, the right-hander was a sensation from his academy days and went on to represent Northern Districts at the Under-17 position. He made his first- class debut against Auckland in 2007 before captaining New Zealand in their 2008 Under-19 WC campaign. A decent 2008-09 season was followed by a fantastic 2009-10 one where he excelled particularly in the shorter format scoring 621 runs at an average of77.62. This earned him a contract with the national side and he made his ODI debut in 2010 against India scoring ducks in his first two games. But in his fifth game, despite being injured and aided by a runner, Williamson showed great determination to score his maiden century which actually nearly won the game for the Kiwis against Bangladesh. Later that year, he went on to score his maiden Test century in his very first game against India in Ahmedabad.

A quiet 2011 was followed up with a noisy 2012 when a gritty, unbeaten Test ton against the world’s most dangerous fast bowling attack of Dale Steyn andco. saved New Zealand from a humiliating defeat. Williamson became New Zealand’s youngest ODI captain as well as the fourth youngest in history when in 2012, he was appointed stand-in captain in place of injured Ross Taylor for the series against West Indies. Given the quality he possesses, Williamson is arguably the stylish batsman that the New Zealand team has garnered from the current generation.

5. Punjab Kings :

Captain: Mayank Agarwal
Age: 31 Years

He may be a regular in India’s Test team, but Mayank Agarwal has no problems juggling between formats when it comes to playing in the IPL. He and Punjab Kings have become a‘ perfect’ match which inadvertently happens to be his favourite song as well. Our alternate topmost run getter from IPL 2020 and Captain Punjab’s ideal partner in crime, trust Mayank to make Punjab Kings do n’t have any starting problems this IPL.

6. Gujarat Titans :

Captain: Hardik Pandya
Age: 28 Years

A wiry young lad from a small town in Gujarat, Hardik Pandya, with his tattoos and peroxide highlights, encapsulates the attractiveness and swagger of the current- day Indian cricketer. As several youngsters do in the ultramodern day, Pandya declared himself to the world during the IPL, portraying his swashbuckling capability to strike the ball, outstanding fielding, and some highway-smart bowling that transcends the cliché’ just rolls his arm over’. A deep voice to go with the confidence and energy, and showing no sign of playing it safe, Pandya is the ultramodern icon of audacity in the Indian side.

7. Lucknow Super Giants :

Captain: KL Rahul
Age: 29 Years

KL Rahul will be leading LSG in their inaugural season and the franchise has secured his services for a whopping INR 17 crore. He realises that there’s a chance for him and his platoon to make this year special for LSG and also stated that the entire contingent is very much hyperactive to take the field.

“ We all are going to try and work together, towards winning. The new season gives us a great occasion as a new franchise to do something special and everyone on the team is very excited to do that.
