Before the PBKS vs. RCB game, Maxwell spoke to the media and claimed that the addition of a player had benefited batters more than bowlers.
The 16th season of the Indian Premier League has been playing for almost three weeks. However, the majority of franchises still haven’t figured out the Impact Player puzzle.
While it has provided possibilities for young people, Australia international Glenn Maxwell thinks that “it’s probably becoming a 12-person game instead of the traditional 11-person game.”
You now have a second batter. The game is still not over when your team is behind by six points. Because they have the extra time and batter, many teams choose to chase.
“It undoubtedly makes it more difficult as a bowling team. The number of extra bowlers you add won’t make a difference, Maxwell told the reporters before Royal Challengers Bangalore’s away match against Punjab Kings.

Ricky Ponting, the current coach of the Delhi Capitals and a former captain of Australia, expressed his concern over the impact player rule before to the start of the competition. Maxwell also shares the same viewpoint.
“The additional batter really does make a difference. The top six can play more freely as a result. It can be challenging to deal with. Instead of the usual 11 players, it’s presumably going to become a 12-player game. All-rounders have likely been eliminated from the game as well, he claimed.
“I don’t think it adds a whole lot to the game, but it has made it a little different.”
The new regulation has had its share of successes and failures, but Maxwell thinks it’s odd that it was implemented in between the major auctions.
It’s a little strange, he added, since this rule was introduced in the middle of the major auctions.
“In the lead-up to this event, you constructed these squads in a specific manner. It might have been okay if all teams had the opportunity to restart, and if you could restart your squads. I believe it has just made everyone feel a little short and may have re-involved some people.
