The last Group H matches of the present FIFA World Cup in Qatar will take place on Friday with South Korea and Ghana facing off against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal and Luis Suarez’s Uruguay, respectively (December 2). The 2016 Euro champions Portugal have already qualified for the Round of 16 with two victories from as many games played, while the other three teams in the group are still vying for a spot in the next round.

Ghana: Ghana is ranked second with three points after two games, and a victory over Uruguay tonight will ensure that they advance to the Round of 16. If they draw with Uruguay, they must then pray that South Korea loses its game against Portugal or that they also draw with Uruguay. If Korea triumphs, Ghana only needs to make sure that they outscore Korea on goal differential. If Ghana loses to Uruguay, they will be eliminated.
South Korea: South Korea will be eliminated from the FIFA World Cup 2022 if they lose to or draw against Portugal. Their destiny will rely on the outcome of the Ghana-Uruguay game, thus even a victory won’t guarantee them a spot in the Round of 16. They must wish for a loss or a draw for Ghana in its match. If Ghana draws, Korea advances if they outscore them on goal differential. Due to Ghana’s defeat, Uruguay will finish with four points. However, Korea only has to maintain their lead because they currently have a greater goal difference than Uruguay.
Uruguay: Similar to Korea, Uruguay will be eliminated if they lose or tie. They can only advance if they triumph over Ghana and Korea loses to Portugal without earning all three points. If Korea defeats Portugal, Uruguay must make sure they defeat them in terms of goal differential by defeating Ghana handily.
