IPL 2023 Points Table – The Indian Premier League 2023 Points Table (also know as IPL T20 2023 Points Table, TATA IPL 2023 Points Table, TATA IPL 2023 Team Standings & Rankings) is a 15th edition of the Indian Premier League of Twenty20 franchise League organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). IPL Points Table 2023 | Today’s IPL Team Standings and Rankings
The sixteenth season of the IPL 2023 is poised to commence play on March 31, and things are about to get serious on the pitch. Similar to previous year, ten teams will compete in the premier league and battle it out for just over a month in order to win the coveted championship on May 28.
The BCCI has chosen to divide the 10 teams competing in the event into two groups (A and B). Group B includes teams like CSK, PBKS, SRH, RCB, and GT, whereas Group A comprises of MI, RR, KKR, DC, and LSG. There will be 14 league games this year because each squad will play the five teams from the opposing group twice and the other four from their own group once.
The competition promises to break a few records and set a few new ones. The batsmen will be aiming to add runs to their tally in order to attempt and be on top of the IPL 2023 Orange Cap while the bowlers will be aiming to make it to the IPL 2023 Purple Cap.
IPL Points Table 2023 Rules
In terms of the IPL points table, the team that wins a match receives two points, and the side that loses the match receives none. In the event of a tie or game abandonment, each team will be awarded one point.
The team with the most victories will be taken into account if two teams are tied on the points table. On the other side, if both teams have an equal number of victories, the net run rate (NRR) will be applied. The margin of a team’s win or defeat determines how the NRR is changed after each game.
The victor of Qualifier 1 advances to the championship round, while the losing team competes in Qualifier 2. The teams that finished third and fourth will only play in one match, the Eliminator, with the winner advancing to Qualifier 2 and the loser being eliminated from the competition.
- The team winning a match will earn two points, whereas the losing team receives no points.
- If a match gets abandoned, both teams will receive one point each.
- If two or more teams have the same points, the team with the most wins will be placed higher in the points table.
- If two or more teams are on equal wins, the team with the higher net run rate (NRR) will be placed above on the points table.

Despite their being two groups, only one points table will be used. The top four teams at the end of the league stage will advance to the playoffs, while the remaining six teams will be eliminated.
