Ruturaj Gaikwad was fortunate to avoid injury following a minor accident that occurred during the current IPL 2023 match between the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Fortunately, things worked out okay for the right-handed batsman who could have been hurt in the very first over of the chase. The event happened as Sandeep Sharma prepared to bowl the fourth ball of the over.
Ruturaj Gaikwad abruptly left his position just before Sharma released the ball because there was some commotion behind the bowler. However, Sharma had already unleashed the ball, which was incidentally well-directed towards the first batsman. Ruturaj Gaikwad avoided getting hurt by using his hands to deflect the ball.
